wocka: that is a green moray. the panther is very large, about 10".
fishtanker: all the fish are doing very well. The niger is doing awesome...no signs of any more parasites, appetite is enormous, and his color is incredible now--and the naso, which I didn't have much hope for, appears chubbier and his fins are starting to fill in again. I'm very happy about these guys.

I hope my panther goruper lives to get 20'' long. (max size).
My book says 27 inches is max size for a panther...yikes!

So the eel doesnt go after the fish?? I would think with a big mouth like that it could take a bite outta anything in there. And watever other eel u have as well, cuz i know u gots another. I would get rid of a panther b4 it gets over 2 feet long.... The fish iteslf will be 1/3 the length of the tank.

Nice rescue Polarpooch!!!!!
I don't care what anyone says, I think that you did the right thing. Even better all those fish are better off then they were. You gave them a second chance.
*The lesson to be learned: DO NOT BUY FISH THAT YOU CANNOT HOUSE FOR THEIR WHOLE LIFE. ONLY PUT FISH, IN YOUR TANK, THAT ARE APPROPRIATE FOR YOUR TANK SIZE.
I am glad to hear that all is well!!!

The trio of rescued misfits are doin' great it seems.:D
Now if only my fishstore would have a few fish that needed saving, I'm looking at an empty 55 and getting ideas.

I just took a good look at that panter, and it is HUGE. I almost got one, for my 180. It seemed to small for my tank. It was perhaps 2 inches long. Now that I know they could be 27" I don't think that a 180 could be a lifetime home. Dang those fish are huge.
I wish that I could save the fish at a LFS by me. Unfortunatley I would have to buy the whole store.
Just a thought for you saltwater hobbyist...
I drove past a ***** by me, CLOSED. I had never been in there, but I have heard how poorly they can treat their fish.

Don't make polarpooch mad yaoming, she's heard enough of it

No, don't worry, polar's tank is set up to handle the bioload and that eel is in good hands with her. But...he'd be in better hands with me...GIVE ME THE EEL.

I've been up to Madison a few times, I could live there along a lake, nice area. But then again, being from a city, I couldn't handle flying into the airport as the plane's belly scrapes the crops growing a foot off the tarmac, maybe a bit too country for me.
