I'm wanting to add a Flame Hawk to my tank, which currently has a Maroon Clown, Orange Spotted Sleeper Goby, cleaner shrimp, sea cucumbers, bristle stars, hermits, and snails.
I've heard they spell trouble for ornamental shrimp...what have your experiences been? Can the problems be avoided if the flame is introduced last, etc?
Thanks - Matt

my hawk is mean as hell. he almost killed my goby, ate my shrimp, and nips at my clowns
flames are said to be more docile....but a hawk is a hawk IMO

I have a flame hawk in my 75 gallon and just love him:) He's been there for about 6 months now. He's in with a PJ cardinal, yellow-tailed blue damsel and 6-line wrasse. I would judge by his size that he is full grown. I just added a fire shrimp 3 weeks ago followed by another one a few days ago. My flame hawk has never bothered either. In fact he goes up and sits beside the larger one hoping for a free cleaning, but the shrimp never obliges:( I may be adding a couple of cleaner shrimp in the near future......HTH

Hey A&M Aggie '04...I'm from Arlington too! But I go to UT (i'm an '04er as well!)...so we're arch enemies, I suppose. But besides all that...are you originally from Arlington? If so, what high school?
