What do most people use for there auto top off system, I was looking on the internet and saw the autotopoff websites ones, does anyone have any experience with these. It is for a small tank im gunna set up so I need it to go directly in the tank.

there is something called a dosing pump that some people use. Do a search on the boards for that. search ATO and see what comes up. There is a lot of info once you uncover it.

I would highly discourage doing what you are planning on doing. If you use the search forum you will find countless post on floats and switches getting hung up or stuck in the open position and flooding their tanks and floors with fresh water because a snail or crab decided to sit where it caused a malfunction. If its a small tank then your talking small topoffs,if i were you i would do this manually.

ha ya the search prove to not be the best idea with alot of off the subject topics. Well its not that I cant do these autotop offs manually, but Im looking to be able and leave my tank for a couple days without the concern of it evaporating all my water. So Ive been looking around from what Ive seen alot of people use jbj auto topoff, it dosnt seem to be bad, however a little higher priced but I like the addition of the pump cut off if you run out of ro water. The only thing is i havnt been able to find a picture of more than just the main control, I was wondering if yall know what the sensors look like that I would have to place in my tank. Im not looking to do one of those large floating switches.
I also saw some people that used the top-it-off kit, and I saw that other one that was just autotopoff.xxx.
One thing I was worried about is does malfunction occur often, I will be getting one thats why I wanna know which would be the best to go with.

By the way Veni thanks for the help with the RO unit thread went ahead and purchased one, hopefully it will save me a couple bucks in the long run and allow me to manage my water more to my liking.

there are some that use dual floats so one backs up the other incase of falure. they arent expensive so it would be advised to replace the floats on it regurally and never drip kalk powder neer them it will cause them to fail quickly
