Hello...
I have a 40 Gallons Tank running with a canister filter with chemi pure pro and an aqua c remora pro skimmer that I have been runnning for over a year, so far I've only had a few fishes and a couple anemones.
No I really want to start getting into begginer corals, but I have a lot of problems with my salinity everything else it's within acceptable ranges. I would like to get an automatic salinity controller...is there such a thing? If yes please help me describe what do I need to buy to intall a system like this?
Thanks a lot for your time.

Well, what exactly is going wrong with your salinity? Does it rise to quickly?
How do you test it? (swing arm hydrometer, floating hydrometer, refractometer)
How often do you do water changes?
What temperature do you keep your tank?
What is the temperature of the room that you keep your tank in?

My house get's pretty hot aound high 70's so my tank it's usually between 76-79 I use a floating hydrometer I'm doing water changes every week at this point...
yeah teh salinity raises up really fast and i would like to provide a more stable salinity for the upcoming corals.
Thanks

Definitely sounds like you need an Automatic Top Off system (ATO). This will replenish your system with fresh RO water. As water evaporates, salt does not, which raises your salinity, so by adding RO through a top off system, it will keep your salinity more stable.
You can add water manually, but it's a pain, the ATO's are much easier.

I am not a handy person...I wish I was, I could save so much money.
This is what I use:
I have the JBJ type and it works great, very dependable...$100.00, comes with 2 sensors.... one sensor is in the DT and the other in a tub filled with RO water with a pump and hose. When the DT water evaporates the sensor drops slightly. The JBJ master unit turns on the pump and stops it as soon as the first sensor is back to the original position. The sensor in the RO tub won't allow the pump to go on if the water gets too low, so it won't burn up the pump. I would never connect the ATO to my RO water supply (some do) an overflow on the skimmer (my skimmer had done this several times) and you land up with freshwater killing everything in the tank. The worst the tub water can do is a slow drop in SG and when the tub gets low the whole ATO shuts down until the situation is fixed..then all is well and back to normal operation without the loss of a single critter.
