Just thought I'd share some corals from one of the best stores (that I've been to) in southern CA...

Huge frogspawn! For scale check out the clown fish in the right side of the pic:

One more, he's been offered $150 per head for this acan colony, but absolutely will not sell it (can't blame him). Hope I didn't break any rules, but just an awesome collection!

I used a panasonic tz5, it takes pretty good macro shots. Here's a couple more:
These acans were pictured in some reef magazine, I forgot to ask the owner which one....

More rainbows, I just can't get enough of these!

Prices are OK, except for the exotic stuff, but you guys already know that.

take it out the damn display then! I hate when pet stores
do this. At least put it in a show display away from the for sale items but IMO when you go to a store
the merchandise should be for sale not their for customers to admire the hording of good stuff not for sale. they have aquariums for that.

Those clams are absolutely amazing!!! And I love the acans, but the rainbows are my favorite!! Why the heck won't he sell them?? I would def buy them if I had the money. LOL In the third pic, what is that green stuff in the middle?

He is still setting up a display tank in the back of the store, which hasn't been his top priority (the store has been open for about a year and a half) but i appreciate seeing them close up. because if they were in some display tank, I wouldn't be as close, and definitely wouldn't get the "top down" view we all appreciate when looking at clams/corals.
But have you ever seen acans just like those? I don't know about you, but I don't think keeping an exotic coral to yourself is "hording" but its the pride of having something many others admire.

its a green toadstool. he knows a guy that frags them, just green toadstools, (so he has a tank full of these!) so every once in a while theres a few in the store, the small ones sell for a minimum of $40, the one in the pic is about 3" across, so he will probably sell it for over $100. Maybe one may find its way in my tank, some day...

its a sweet coral (never seen anything like it in person) and I could see not wanting to sell it but it looks like its right there with the for sale items. I'd even be okay with a "not for sale" sign by it. but if I had $$$ to brun and I saw it right in the middle of other for sale items and asked to buy it.....I'd be a little irritated after making my selection and not being able to buy it. If you say its going in a display tank I can understand that. every LFS should have a display tank to strut their stuff
