AWOL fish

The lfs is going out of business, so the wife stopped by and ended up getting a brittle star and an a yellow angel. Everything was looking good, until about 30 hrs later... no more angel. I moved the lr thinking he had just found a real good hiding spot. Nope, not anywhere. It's a 30g hex and covered so theres no way he jumped out. The brittle is kinda big, about8 or 9 " across the span of his legs, and he looks alot fatter now. are they known for eating the fish?

That's a possiblity, but more than likely the angel passed away from other reasons and the star just played clean up.

this guy at my local lfs told me that some brittle stars can "grab" swimming fish and eat them. im sure the fish dont think that a star fish is an enemy, but i guess it happens...but most likely, the angel died and then the star just took care of things... sorry about your loss, those are beautiful fish
