I purchased their 500w version for my 110g tank (48x18x30) and I am very surprised that it is having a hard time maintaining the temp of the tank! (no lectures on multiple heaters please ) I am not sure if there is something faulty with the heater or if it just not that good. The heater seems to cycle itself on for a minute or two, then off for a minute or two. It does not matter what I set the temp on the dial too, the cycle does not seem to change. I can turn it up to 90 and it still does not heat the tank anymore than if it was set to 79, the heating cycle does not increase, meaning it does not stay on the heat mode any longer than when set at a lower temp. It is mounted on the back sidewall and has decent flow past it so it is not like the internal sensor is getting fooled into thinking it is warmer than it really is. I was curious if anyone else knew of a good 400w-500w heater that actually works?! (house temp during day is 62-65 & 70-72 in the evening) I am debating on exchanging it for a new unit?
