B&W False Percula - NOT BLACK?

I ordered a "Black & White False Percula - Aquacultured" and it isn't black at all. It is really dark brownish red with white stripes and a yellow/orange face. Do they turn black as they mature or did I get the wrong fish?

The juveniles have orange face and there faces will turn black as they mature. The adults are jet black with the white stripes.

Oh thats good to know. Thanks.
Now, if she is the only one in the tank she will stay female correct?
If I add another now, one will be male and the other will be female in time correct?
What if I leave the one in there for about 6 months then put another in. Will the new one become a male?

They are all male at birth the change is always from male to female not the other way around. Unless the fish has already undergone the change to female when you purchased it. That is done by being paired with others of the same species and being the dominate one.
Given the fact that it is still a juvenille I doubt it has changed ---. Therefore it is still male. So, it will remain male until you place another one in there. There is no time limit you can add another at anytime. If you do its recomended to make sure the new one is smaller than the one thats in there. Yours has already established its territory and will become territorial towards another tank mate. Having the new one smaller will eliminate the new guy trying to be dominant over the other and possibly creating a battle. There will be issues to begin with and because he will be the newer smaller addition its more likley he will submit rather than fight back.
