Can sandsifting star fish have babies even though there is only 1 in my tank. I've had it for about a year.

Anything is possible. Maybe it is a species that stores sperm from previous encounters and uses it later when they feel like breeding again.

Just a thought.

Yes, it's possible. The starfish may appear to break off a leg somewhere in the tank. That leg will eventually grow into another starfish. I doubt sexual reproduction could be achieved in your tank.
