Baby Brittle Star

The best thing about this hobby is finding things you didn't know you had. My son and I noticed a baby brittle star today.
Tiny little fellow, about the size of a quarter. Probably will not see him again for several months, then one day, we will see a big brittle star, along with the other that is already in there.
very cool!!

actually, that is a different variation of brittle star. he is probably full grown. but i couldn't agree more. buy some live rock, toss it in a tank, and all of the sudden, the tank is full of critters!

Yeah, I know. I was amazed at how much life there was in the ocean that was so small... I didn't even know about!
First time I saw two amphipods fighting in a friend of mines tank, I was hooked. I bought my first tank that same week.

Hitchhikers are great, its like buying a surprise bag and seeing what is inside. Pick up one of your rocks, Im sure youll see a few things you never knew you had.
I picked up a small rock and found like 10 white brittlestars, and took a 2 bristleworm down the length of my finger.

lol, I like to see corals come back off of the live rock after it has been cycled. It happens occasionally...
