I was at ***** yesterday and I hate going there but it was in the mall so I always stop by just to see what they have that might be wirth saving. Well in the one tank was a baby fuzzy dwarf lion fish. It was no bigger then 1". Well I just finished setting up the new Nano Tank so I thought why not start the little guy in my Nano untill he need something bigger. So I saved the little guy from hell at ***** and now he is happy in his new home. :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

I took water from my 90 reef tank and placed it into the new nano tank.
By the way I have some good news. I got the Baby Lionfish to eat a ghost shrimp. And we are calling the fish" Oliver"

Thats OK the I will build him a new home in a 20 gallon tank. For now my nano is a great place for him to start.
BY the way I have never ever ever seen a dwarf lion over 4" in a tank. If some one has one in the 6" to 7" range please post a picture.

a dwarf lion will not go good with a 20 gal.. they really need lots of filteration and water. what kind of filteration do you have on your 20??
Dwarfs do get to be 6-7 inches in tanks. My LFS has one thats about 5".

I have the baby lion fish in my 5.5 nano with no corals. I plan on putting some corals in as soon as I finish the rock work which should be this week. I dont think he will pick at them. I will move the lion to a 20 when he is bigger. The lion is only 3/4" to 1" at this time and the nano is a great place for him to start. I have a bio wheel 100 on the nano which is rated for 100 gallons per hour so im turning the water over alot and I do 1 gallon water changes every other day. Like I said this is only a starter tank for the lion fish and he will get a bigger tank when its necessary.

QUESTION????
Whay does every one say that dwarf lions need a lot of room? I had a Fu Man Chu lion for years in a 20 and he very seldome moved except when being feed. Every Dwarf Lionfish I ever see is perched on a rock or hiding in a small cove and very seldome move around except when hunting for food.
Can some one answer this question

Here is my Fuzzy Dwarf Lionfish, she is just adorable and such a great fish. I know the --- due to the amount of barring on her fins. I do not find her overly active except when I come into the room and at feeding time. She mainly is perched on a rock or on the glass. I do have mushrooms in my tank and she does not bother them at all. I cannot speak of other corals though. If you have any shrimp in the tank they will more than likely be dinner sooner or later as this is their number one food they love.
I have a 25 gal for my lionfish and this would the absolute minimum I would put one into. I have two big Aqua Clear filters running on this tank too. They are very personable fish and I am so glad to have gotten one.
Good luck with yours......

Would putting a Dwarf Lion fish, a dwarf flame angel and 2 clowns be too far fetched for a 38 gallon tank ? I think so but am not quite sure...what do you guys think?
And would the dwarf lion fish try to eat the clowns? Maybe if I got the clowns first, let them grow alittle and then got a very young and tiny dwarf lion fish they'll be okay...??

I think that would be enough room for that. I have a 65 gallon that has a fuzzy dwarf, cinnamon clown, Six line wrasse, and a pakistan angel in it and they all get along great together. Oh and a purple lobster. They all have been in the tank for at least a year.
