About 5 weeks ago I wanted a Banded shark in my tank, I did not have the $110 the store was selling them for, So I opted for a Shark Egg Embryo for $20... well Saturday I woke up and the egg hatched...I now have a 6 inch brown and white banded shark...he is very timid now, I have him seperated from my other fish and I have seen him eating when I feed him...he is not swimming around too much yet. Any of you experts out there have any advice for me with this fish...I have a 55 gallon tank with a Tang, Trigger, Clown and Wrasse, no live coral, just fish. Any thing special I should feed him, I feed the others Formula One, he seems to be eating the Formula One with no problems...Any advise is appericated..
Thanks
Bryan

Your trigger is going to mess with the shark and probably kill him. You als need a much bigger tank. They are awesome fish and they grow quick i grew mine from when it hatched up to 30" in less then two years. You are going to need a bigger tank quick and get him away from that trigger.

depending on how much you feed it, some say only feed it every other day once, and the temperature...higher the temperature & the more you feed, the faster it might grow; it might be ok in the 55 depending on quality of your tank and if you don't add more to the bioload...you will need a larger tank for it preferablly in about 6 months; the sooner the bette though; where did you purchase you egg from & how long did you have it for before it hatched?

I got the egg from a local shop in Jacksonville ( Bio Reef) It was in my tank for about 5 weeks, I seperated it from the other fish by a peice of plastic with holes drilled in it, I put an extra airhead in the section for more current, than last Saturday morning It hatched,I was not home when it happened, I still have it seperated from the other fish till he eats some more. His name is Sammy the Shark.
