I have a crushed coral sub-strait and looking closer i see small starfish that look kinda like brittle or serpent starfish... just against the glass i have seen about 10-15 the largest is about the size of a dime including the arms. i am assuming that they will engross the tank, should I be worried? I asked about them at the lfs and was given a unclear answer and was told to get rid of them to use a harlequin shrimp, and after reading about them not a road I want to travel (not to pretty to look at either lol) any idea`s?
I have a pic of the starfish on my other comp and will post it soon

Fine addition to your tank. Leave them be especially since you have such coarse substrate. The will help to keep it clean.
By the way that substrate is so coarse you may have problems keeping it clean down the road. Food, fish poop etc. will become trapped in the particles and left to rot and may cause some increase nitrates.
