Back From My Trip

Hi everyone, back from my three week trip. Everything looks good in all my tanks the new 65 and 40 gallon set up ran great. My 10 yo took care of everything. A few interesting observations before I left I shut down the SWC 160 cone skimmer and left the ATS running. There was a lot of hair algae in the sump and fuge when I came back the sump and fuge were spotless. THe main tanks had some hard Coraline growth on the glass but no green algae. My son told me he added some water to the top off reservoir, unfortunately it was tap water, but he added chlorine remover. I can't give him heck he tried really hard. So tonight I check a few of the parameters nitrites 0, nitrates 0, ammonia 0, phosphates < 0.05, alk 2.5 meq/l (liitle low my fault no reef builder in top off reservoir) pH 8.3. So I am pretty happy about everything. THis weekend a water change for sure. Skimmer is back on a taking out some good brown stuff again.

Welcome back Al. Glad to hear everything survived and the the GHA disappeared. Did your son have to clean the screen on the scrubber at all while you were away? I bet there was a ton of growth on it.

Thanks Corey, He did not - the union would be a bit tuff for him. Lots of growth cleaning it tonight

Thanks TL - how is th fu man chu doing and have you guys moved yet.
 
 
Just about done moving. The Fu's tank is the only one that's left. He's not doing well at all :-(. I think I'm going to loose him. Finally got him to accept frozen and he is now showing signs of ich and has refused to eat for over a week. Really upsetting. I think once we move his tank, he's done :-(
