What are everyones thoughts about using a background on your tank? Is it best to use one of those fake ocean background films to mask the corner of the wall behind the tank?? I'm jsut looking to do something to cover-up the mess of wires and ugly wall corner visible through my tank.

Just put a piece of black plastic, black paper, or you can paint it black. That color really brings out the color in the fish and corals.

I spraypainted a blue (top) to black (bottom) gradient on a sheet of acrylic that I fasted to the back of my tank.
A very simple and cheap solution would be to cut a piece of poster board to size and tape it to the tank. If it gets ruined or you decide to change to a different background, you're out all of 30 cents.
