Hello!
So here's the problem: i just connected my 20 gallons sump to my already established 20 gallon tank and my water has turned cloudy. From what ive read, this could be a bacterial bloom. do you think adding a new 20 gallons to the system made this happen? is this harmful to the fish in the system?
Speedy replies would be great!
Thanks alot!.

I don't think its harmful, when I washed my filter sock for the first time, I had a really bad bacterial bloom, and then a realy bad ammonia spike followed, so I would say just watch it.

do you have any sand in the sump?
A bacterial bloom shouldn't cause much of an issue. If the new saltwater was not left stagnant and the right temp and salinity was maintained, it shouldn't have been anything more than a mere water change.
Add some filter sponge or floss to your sump and it will clear up

No, no sand. I mixed the water that went in the sump the same way i do for all water changes, so im not sure. Ill plop in some extra sponge to the sump and we will see how that does.
