I've been cycling my tank now with 3 greeen chromis for 2 1/2 weeks...one of them developed a brown growth just outside the gill above the dorsal fin...I did some reading & came to the conclusion that it must be a bacterial infection. I was wondering if anyone knows any reason why I shouldn't use an antibiotic like Maracyn2 in the tank while it's still cycling? Would it hurt anything? I don't have a hospital tank set up yet ( planning to get one 
) so I think this is really my only choice. I did read that chromis are so hardy sometimes they'll fight these things off on their own...I don't know. My ammonia level is on it's way down, nitrite is at it's peak and nitrates are climbing too. Any suggestions or information would be very welcome...Thanks a lot.
