Bacterial infection or fungus

My fish has what looks like the flesh at the head area being eaten away, and another fish has small cotton looking growths at the head area.
What kind of infection is it and how do I get rid of it without removing the fish...I have a FO tank

Fungal infections are actually rare in saltwater aquariums. (The salt prevents most species of fungus from growing.) However mold-like cottony growths are common with bacterial infections.
It is usually best to avoid putting any medications into a display tank. Sometimes these infections can be cured by improving water quality, especially by doing a large water change. An antibiotic such as Maracyn 2 can also be used, but this is best used within a hospital tank.
