Bad Ballast?

I have a Coral Vue 175W electronic ballast that I've been using for about a year and a half on a single-end mogul base pendant with an XM bulb. I have 2 of these pendants over my tank and they have run with no problems (the other pendant runs on a magnetic ballast). I noticed a few weeks ago that one of the bulbs seemed to be a bit dimmer than the other. I always buy bulbs at the same time, so I thought I'd switch which ballasts were running each pendant to narrow it down to a bulb or ballast problem. Problem is, after letting the bulbs cool last night, I powered up the ballasts and the electronic one will not fire the bulb. I got on Coral Vue's website and they said to unlpug it for 7 minutes to let the capacitors discharge, so I waited over night, still no luck this morning. The mag. ballast fired the bulb that was in question, and it still seems dim, so I think it is in fact the bulb, but I am baffled as to why the elec. ballast suddenly decided not to turn back on. Does anyone know of anyway to troubleshoot those? I don't see a fuse on it anywhere. Thanks.

uh oh. So two different pendants and two different lamps, in any case, any combination, the ballast will not ignite the lamp. Do I have that right?

Sounds to me like it flew south for whatever reason. You can try opening up the ballast enclosure and taking a look, perhaps there is a fuse inside it someplace?
