Lets assume in a perfect world with perfect conditions (ammonia 0, nitrates 0, nitrites 0, salinity 1.026) You had these guys in a 75 gallon tank: 2 feather dusters, several mushrooms, assorted snails and crabs, 1 cleaner shrimp, 1 Hippo tang, 1 cinnamon clown, 5 small green chromis.............
Question #1: Perfect Lighting?
Question #2: Anything wrong with species combination?
Question #3: How much LR and LS for proper filtration?
Lets also assume that other filtration is 30-gallon refugium....
Really having a fit with this setup for a friend and can't figure out problem... nothing is thriving lately and has been setup for 1 year with proper water changes (20-25% mos)....
any suggestions ? Thanks so much ahead of time, you guys are great!

question 1- I personaly like the look of vho. Great lighting and gives fish and inhabitants nice look. Lighting isn't so important though because you don't have any corals requiring much of it.
2- Nothing wrong with the species combination that I see.
3- A good amount of lr IMO would be 100-125 lbs of lr and 150-175lbs or more of ls depending on how many inches you want. These numbers are just a guess and depend on personal preference.
My questios are what are you using for water changes? What are the specific problems your friend is having. What type of lighting is on the tank and how long has it been since they've been changed?
