bad halides?

so i my mh today from a auction site. their new, i pluged it in and nothing happen? i was wondering if it takes a couple mins to start? there is a couple pieces of glass inside(smaller than a bb. do u think its a bad bulb?

i just got a 250 halide...it takes a couple of minutes to really warm up. If there was glass in the box that isnt a good sign! did you check the bulb? Inspect it carefully!

It sometimes does take a couple minutes to fire. What kind of bulb and what kind of ballast??
The small glass pieces inside the bulb are normal for some bulbs... as long as there is nothing broken.

i think i found out what the problem is. the 2 wires where it connects in the bulb one is broken so only one is connected. i saw it on the box thats how i figured it out. damn now im goin to have to wait till i get the bulb replaced. i hope the seller will. or atleast the shipping company.

o yea i had it pluged in for about 15mins and nutitn thats when i really started to look at the bulb. well thanks anyway.
