I read somewhere that certain kinds of hermit crabs will eat coraline algae, maybe I’m just paranoid but it seems like some of mine is being eaten. My hermits have red legs, if that helps any. Can anyone shed some light on this for me.
Thx
I have never heard of a hermit crab that eats corraline algae. Most red legged varieties are reef safe. I guess it could be a hermit crab, but I would look for small sea urchins first. They are notorious for eating corralline algae.
Well I do have one crab I never was sure of. It was in the bottom of the cooler I brought the LR home in, I put him in the tank and haven't seen him since. He was about the size of a quarter kind of a tan color with a little orange in the pinchers...only saw him for a minute. Thanks for the input...
