bad reason for new rockwork

Ok, all my fish are crammed into a 40 gallon QT tank, getting treated for ich with hypo. Good time to redo the rockwork. Let me know what you think. About 40% is DIY rock I made.

You do not think the hair algea is from the natural sunlight? I do like the anchor too. :joy: I also like the aquascaping also.

Love the anchor...but Bella, an iron/stell anchor won't hurt your tank with rusting and all? Not flaming...just don't know and am inquisitive....

I think the anchor is fine as well, as long as it is something suitable to be in a SW tank. My first project here would be to find out what's causing all the hair algae...direct sunlight from window, over feeding, lighting on too long, not enough flow in the tank. Get a handle on that first and fore most. It's a royal pain and will take time (lots of it) so be patient.
Best of luck, and please, please post pics of your progress and what you're doing...it's the best way for new hobbiests to learn for their own tanks....

Its not plastic, but its not metal either. I am not sure of what its made out of, but I am sure its safe for tanks, thats what its made for, and its been in there for over 3 years now. My seahares will eat the hair alge, they have it down to a rock or two left to get at.

i think it would be more gooder to find the source of the algae and eliminate it rather than rely on the sea hares to control it.

never seen an ornament raise phosphate levels  no different from the plastic housing of a powerhead
