Bak Pak on a 125 gal

Will a bak pak 2 be a large enough skimmer on a 125 gallon along with a fluval 404 for filtration?

Their web site says good up to 100 gal. Also the others are good up to a 75 I think. Maybe someone else can help with some other brands.

I would never even consider it. I would not put a bak pak on any tank over 30 gallons.

Mfg specs aside, for any skimmer to work effectively it should turn your tank water over 5X an hour...with the 300 gph pump the bacpac runs the most it could "effectively" do would be 60 gallon tank...
However the Bacpac design is not he most efficient so I'd down grade that to a 30-50 gal tank...
If your looking for low cost effective filtration look into a hang on overflow, a rubber maid sump/fuge, and a mag7 or 9 return pump...
Then you could spend your money on a better skimmer...
