I just got my Retro fit kit, but just curious where exactly does everyone else put their ballast? Inside the canopy? Outside the canopy? Ground Level? Under Tank? Thanks.
I tend to mount them under the tank or to the outside of the canopy. I'm assuming this is a fluorescent kit.
Putting them inside the canopy exposes them to saltwater spray, which causes serious rusting.
Something else to keep in mind is ballast can get fairly hot so it may be better to keep it away from the lamps since the heat can shorten the lamps life.
