Okay...as I posted previously I've had some issues with my T5 hood. The company just sent me 2 new ballasts as well as the new remote unit (one of the ballasts it seems was heating everything up really hot and making the remote unit malfunction...but couldn't tell which ballast so he sent me a couple).
My question...I'm worried about the heating up issue again...can I put the ballasts outside the hood and just run the wires to it? I was thinking of maybe mounting them to the back of the tank cabinet or something like that? If so...should I put them in something first (they are the metal ballasts...no covers) and if so what?
I would like to keep them away from the stuff in the hood if possible to prevent this happening again. The other one(s) caused the metal mounting plate in the hood to get so hot it melted/singed some of the wire covers going to my moonlights as well as making the remote unit malfunction.
Thanks in advance!
