So I'm getting ready to put together a shark tank, and see how it goes. this is what i have.
125 Gallon Long Drilled Tank
55 gal Sump with Refuge
Coralife Protein Skimmer
Deep Blue Sea UV Sterilizer
Have about 60 pounds of live rock in center of the tank.
Sand Substrate.
now, before going off on me saying the tank is small. Im starting this out from small 8" specimens, I plan on getting a bigger tank.
Tank is cycled.
Ph. 8.2
Nitrates .5
Ammonia 0
These sharks I'm actually rescuing from someone that has them in a 40 gal breeder.
anything else u would recommend?
Ive also been looking on youtube for references and research, i see some people are able to put softie corals in with them in the rock. like Zoanthids etc for color I'm guessing.
also how much flow do you think i should have for them?

well this is a hard one...
firstly make sure your sand is not to fine nor to rough... very hard on sharks skin
next with a tank this small you can start out with a bit of rock in the middle and in the back corners (as the sharks wont go into the corners) and as he gets larger you will need to take it all out...
as far as flow you can get away with 10x over though you may need to add some powerheads if you experiance alot of dead spots..
SO for my questions is this guy eating frozen off of a stick or dropped in the tank yet? hopefully hes not still on live foods???
Do you have a plan for a larger tank and where to put it in, so in the next year you can upgrade? (bamboos do grow relatively fast for a shark, lol)
as far as corals I havent seen many people able to keep the nitrates down far enough to keep them with sharks...and sharks tend to sit/swim across the top of anything in a tank..
