Base Rock/live Rock Question

QUESTION...HAVE SOME BASE ROCK AND ABOUT 75 LBS OF LIVE ROCK. SOMEONE SAID EVENTUALLY THE BASE ROCK WILL TURN INTO LIVE ROCK, IS THIS TRUE??? THANKS!!

Yes its true. The "live rock" will seed the base rock. Organisms and benifitia bacteria that are found on the LR will "move over" to the base rock, causing it to become alive. This takes around 4 months or so.
