base rock/live rock

i just started up a 125 gl tank placed one piece of live rock to get cycle started. my question is can i use rocks from my yard and crick/stream as a base rock will it turn into live rock down the road. and how will this effect the ph if i can use this rock do i need to prep it as in boil, bleach ect......?

Not a good idea...
There are to many unknown possible contaminants that are commonly used in yard and lawn care. Or the unknown mineral content of the rocks themselves.
