Base rock?

Can this be used as base rock? It will go in a 40g with 20 lbs of LR. Also, I assume it has to be grouped with the LR right (physically touching it?) Pic attached is the rock in question... front side and from the top

well it might be able to but first i would put it in a tub of saltwater and wait 3 or 4 days then test the ph
if it is to hi then no
to low then no
in the right range then yes
