Basic Light question

I have the old school lighting. Yes the basic florescent bulbs..lol
I'd like to have some kind of coral in the future, however I know that the bulbs I have probably won't cut it. My question is as follows...
Without spending hundreds on a new strip, what bulbs will do the trick? Currently I have 1 atinic(sp.) and 1 basic florescent white. I do realize right now the white isn't doing a thing for me either.
I also know about the T5, PC, etc... yet they are just a little out of my price range at the moment.

Actually looking at a LFS site I found this... Will it work for basic "easy" corals? or will it require better bulbs? The price is do-able for me on these.
Coralife S/W Aqualight T-5 is a double lamp fixture ideal for saltwater and reef aquariums. Includes one 10,000K Daylight and one True Actinic 03 Blue T-5 (5/8 diameter) fluorescent lamp. Features an on/off switch, a built in electronic ballast, sleek black aluminum housing, a highly polished reflector, acrylic lens cover and adjustable width tank mounts. T-5 lamps are 14 watts each.

Ive heard really bad things about the coralife T-5 fixtures. Check out the brand catalina. They have good fixtures (individual reflectors) for alot less than the other good T-5 lights.

I dunno which one it is off hand it is used and it should run anything I want in it but it is going to be mainly a fowlr tank for right now.
