Basic question about PS 24/7 but need an answer

Greetings!
I was given recently a Protein skimmer to put in my reef tank. I installed it but.. THE NOISE OF THE PUMP DRIVES ME CRAZY Well... it works well but since the tank is in my office, I find the noise quite disturbing. My question is: Do you keep your Protein Skimmer 24/7 or do you have it on a timer? What's your rational for either way?

I leave mine on 24/7. Others run it when they are not home or sleeping so they do not hear it. I think its up to you how you want to do it.

If you decide to only run it part time I would run it at night since that is when the O2 levels are the lowest.
If you only run it part time watch to see if you have a decline in water quality. If you do then I would run it all the time or get a better one.
Might want to tell people what skimmer you have because someone might have figured out how to quiet it down.
