Bay Leaf

I've heard its because you can't really chew them up and you risk choking on them?
I dunno, sounds dumb. They're not poisonous or anything.

hmmm, i use them alot and so did my mom. "Don't eat the bay leaf" was her comment and is mine. but i dont know why i am saying it lol:D

Didn't bother me, but i've been known to eat some nasty stuff.. like that sandwich on the lunch table no one wanted to even touch..

haha you remind of my friend amanda from high school.
we used to concoct all kinds of crap for her to eat...
ravioli mixed with strawberry milk, macaroni and cheese, and jello...
and she'd do it.

I took care of an elderly gentleman who didn't even know that he had eaten a whole bay leaf. He got very ill and developed a bowel obstruction. When I assisted in his operation with our surgeon, we found an intact bay leaf which had perforated part of his small intestine. He did well but died several years later from something else.
If you chew them up I think they are harmless.

wow, no kidding. i think i will continue to dispose of them :yes:
