Four hours in the slow cooker and an hour in the toaster oven renders these scrumptious morsels of barbequed heaven.
Should I whoop up some garlic toast to go with them?

Here was the final product. BBQ ribs, cheesy garlic toast and penne pasta with butter, garlic and Italian herbs.
It was WAY yummy.

The first time I did ribs in the slow cooker marked the last time I grilled them. (at least without slow cooking them first) If you haven't tried it, you really must. Being from Kansas City, I take barbeque very seriously and this process produces some incredible ribs. Next time you guys plan on grilling some ribs drop them in a slow cooker first. They are simply amazing. I start with onions (usually Maui Sweets) lining the bottom of the slow cooer and add about an 8th cup of apple cider vinegar before turning it on. While it warms up I rub the ribs down with seasoning and prepare my sauce. Once the ribs are ready I arrange them in the cooker so they have space between them. I then pour pineapple juice over them and lightly salt them. Use fresh juice if you have access to pineapples. Lisa happened to have just brought some back from Hawaii. After 3-4 hours on high I slather them in my sauce and place them in a 350 degree oven for an hour or so. This is where you would grill them. You may want to use a pan or foil because they will try to fall apart. This is why I pretty much stopped grilling them. I pull them out when they have a nice crusty glaze like in the pics. The meat will be so tender and juicy that they are hard to pick up by the bone.

My wife doesn't really eat animal parts
so my daughter and I will have ribs for a couple days. She'll enjoy the pasta and retoasted bread. (like an enormous crouton)
We all hate dishes. She only got a real plate because I was posting pics of it.

You know everybody thinks I am weird for slow cooking my ribs and then broiling them . I think it is the way to go . The meat just falls off the bone . And the flavor penetrates the meat in the slow cooker . Don't get me wrong I do love some slow smoked ribs too . But the time and effort just makes it a wash .
