BC29 Mods

I think I am done modding my BC29 and would like to post some pics and instructions for everyone.

To help with low flow in the third chamber I took out the stock filter and use a poly filter on top of my drip tray. I also cut the plastic between the first and third chamber to increase flow. This increased flow a ton.
To help with nitrates I took out all the bioballs and use live rubble in the first and second chamber. I also scrapped off the paint on the back of the cube and put a light in the second chamber. I grow chaeto in this chamber.
I had a problem with cyano in my tank so I asked around and they said to increase flow. I put another powerhead in my last chamber Maxi-Jet 900. Water flow is still good because of the other mods I had done.
I bought a light kit from nano-tuners which increased my light to 144 watts. This was a little more difficult to do because you have to solder.
I just now finished installing a Sea clone 100 protein skimmer. This was not too hard. I mounted the pump in my middle chamber under my overflow. I cut a hole in the middle of the chamber and ran tube out to get water for my skimmer. I could not use the water from the chamber because it would create flow problems and get chaeto in it. I then mounted the skimmer in my first chamber. It is working beautifully.
I put a ton of work into this cube, but hopefully I can help someone out. It works great and hopefully looks great soon.

do you have more pics of ur lights. I am thinking of getting the 3.36 upgrade and am curious to see what the 4.36 looks like.

about how much live rubble are you using in the first and second trey. Did you remove the divider in the first (right) chamber? If so, could you explain how, I have my heater in the middle with about a lb of LR and it is not covered completely. I would rather have it in the right chamber.

I probably have about 2 pounds in those chambers. The divider in the first chamber just pushes down and pops out. It really isn't that hard getting it out.
