Because I'm bored and have nothing to do ...

...I created an Access database to track the spending of my current aquarium and the future aqauriums. It takes each purchase for the aqaurium and the test results you get. It also includes the ability to add pictures after each addition or test. I thought this would be a really cool way to keep a history on the tank(s).
So, you might be asking "Why are you telling us this stuff ?" Well it is because if you want a copy, mail $1,000,000.00 to me and you can have a copy :D
Just kidding, email me @ michael.gronholz@verizon.net and I'll email you an empty database or I'll burn you a copy on CD and snail mail it to you. I am offering only the code with occasional improptu support via email (NO GUARANTEES OR ANYTHING like that...I'm not Microsoft).
I attached a screenshot just to give you an idea...

If you want it to do something it currently doesn't, let's talk. I do stuff like this for fun ALL THE TIME !!!
This pic is kinda crudy because I had to size it down so I could upload it.

Are you nuts? Why would I want that kind of info saved onto my hard drive where my wife might see it!
Wife<<I thought you said that new protein skimmer thingy only cost 40 dollars!
Me<< well honey I did not make a note on the spread sheet but all those figures are in yen.
Just kidding. That looks like a great idea. If I would keep up on it I would get a copy to use.

I use XP Pro @ home and all of my data is on an NTFS partition. Then stuff like this is encrypted so only I can see it. Wife never knows (unless she checks Money 2003). But even then, she ignores the ***** and PetSmart stuff and looks at the large $$$ going to Home depot, Lowes and all that stuff.

I got 200+ pounds for $150. Got it off of aquabid.com. Guy named Tom @ All Terrain Tanks. He took it out of a customers tank (after 7 years). I told him I hated the auction process (which I do !!!!) and would keep an eye on it. He siad that if I wanted it, he'd pull the auction. So, we made a deal.
So I had to spend gas money driving from DC to NY. Big deal, I was going to NH to get the tank. I all worked out in the end I guess !!!
:D

Mike,
If you're interested, I can build a front end for your access database with Delphi and make a free standing .exe, I'm bored too so if you want to collaborate on a freeware project let me know and we can get in touch.

Hey, that would be pretty cool !!! I was thinking of putting the standard web front end on it from FP. I'll tell you what, let me get rid of all the stupid stuff that's not needed, and we can hook up. Probably this weekend before I get it done. (I tend to be a perfectionist with that stuff)
HEY, maybe SWF.com would be interested in the code and would donate a cool fish for our troubles....hmmm Eitherway, we will still be able to put out a product that the members can use.
Now that I think about it,....maybe SWF.com could create a cool download page that we could put it on. They could also give each member about 1.5 meg to upload NMT 1 picture of their tank as a gallery that SWF.com could use for "site development".

Sounds cool Mike, is it a relational database? A download area on SWF would be pretty cool, maybe the moderators could make this happen. When you get everything cleaned up let me know by posting in this thread and I'll shoot you my email.

Yep, it is an Access 2002 db (SQL based). It is pretty simple, but functional. I'm working on my MCDBA right now for SQL 2000. Also, if you would, shoot me your email. I have a very un-fish related question for you. It is db front end based.
