Snake,
You mentioned in another thread that you're interested in some of my musical shenanigans, so here goes:
I've been playing sax (hence my screenie) since I was 11, so that makes it about 43 years now (actually, I play all of the woodwinds). I also sing both lead and backup vocals.
I used to do it for a living, and have played with a few notables during that time. However, now I get to pick and choose my gigs since I have a pretty decent "day gig" as a Sr. Microelectronic Component Eng'r / Failure Analyst for international and (recently) domestic space programs. I still make some money at it, but I don't have to play TOO many cr@ppy jobs just to make ends meet.
My fave bunch of guys to play with is Hot Tin Roof (there are more than one HTR, but we've been using the name over 20 years), which is a 4 or 5 piece (usually 5) "classic" R&R / R&B band, which is the band that plays the nudie camp gigs. We actually had a website that had bios and MP3's, but the webmaster quit on us, so here's an alternate that should have most of the stuff:
http://www.myspace.com/hottinroofrocks
If you watch the little video, there's a song called Dancin' Naked In the Sun that we wrote especially for the nudie camp, which of course, is a big hit there.
That's it in a nutshell...

Wow, I'm impressed with your musical abilities. I took piano lessons for a good 6 years. Never mastered it though, my interests moved on to other things. I listened to Dancing Naked in the Sun, Pride and Joy and a couple of ya'lls other songs. Very nice and entertaining. I watched the movie and man do you get into it! Thanks Greg, for sharing that.

My stepbrother in law has one of those dream gigs. He teaches music at two Chicago are universities, plays with a couple of local bands on occasion and is one of the horn players with the Lt, Dan band so he gets to travel all over with them.
But I like your music better :)

Is Gary Sinise (sp) a cool guy to work with? Seems like he might be. I've worked with some "names" that are just a PITA, but mostly I find the really good guys know they have nothing to prove, so they just have a good time making music.

My wife got to meet Gary a couple times. The second time he remembered our son had been deployed and asked about him. That was pretty impressive considering the number of people he must meet in the same situation. Last year I was in the room with him. I don't know the details but Gary was sitting at the bar talking with a ex soldier for like 40 minutes. I was hanging out drinking with the band which was very cool. They all seemed to really like working with him, I know the BIL really enjoys it. They say he is actually an excellent bass player to boot, holds the groove very well.

Very cool, and I agree...it SUX to have a bass player (or drummer) who can't count to four.
