arrr hi all its been a while.. almost a year heh.. well i got out of the hobby when my fish died and i think im deciding to give it another go. i currently have a eheim pro2 (the big one). i dont think it worked very well because when i did use it my water wasnt very good and it didnt really pick stuff up, so i plan on getting an amiracle sl-15 or something of the sort. my tank is 60 gallons. would you reccomend anything else? thanks!

I would recommend that you go slow. Try to use the Kis method (Keep it simple).
I am using the Berlin method and plan on modifying it just a bit. you should have 60lbs of live rock, 4 inches of live sand.
this will be your filter system. Then purchase a protein skimer and a power head or two. this should work quite well, gives realistic reef environment and the filter (live Rock)is a good place for more food.
Here are a couple of things you should have on hand in case things get ugly.
1. reef safe ICH cure
2. Alage clip and dried algae
3. Garlic medicated food
4. Medicare food

yes, the only thingis , i like lr, iwould use 1.5lbs per gallon, unless it is really light, and takes up very little room, you'd be surprised at how full your tank won't look, with creative scaping, but the more the merrier, and it will never hurt
HTH and good luck
