Been Awhile: How big the blob got

Hey, it’s been a bit since I was on the board. Did I miss anything interesting? LOL. I got back from VA and someone was watching my tanks. Needless to say, I thought I would post some pics of my acanlord, as it has gotten HUGE. I left a new diet for “the feeders” to take care of, and I think I am sticking with it. This thing (since dimensions really don’t do to well from the pics), grew to about 8-9 inches across, probably 250+ polyps and the polyps are just ridiculous. When they are fully expanded, the larger ones are around 1.75 inches across. How has everyone’s tank been doing?

This may sound a little odd. I have been using a newer product on the market called Coral Frenzy and Cyclop-Eeze (good and stable). I stopped using the blender mush all together. I take a salad dressing bottle, fill it with tank water and put about 4 tablespoons of Cyclop-Eeze in there with about 3 tablespoons of Coral Frenzy. I shake it a whole bunch every day just to make sure that it doesn't clump. After three days in the fridge, I fill up ice cube trays with it. I use one ice cube for every 30 gallons of tank water. I probably wouldn't recommend that people do this, my fridge is just REALLY cold but doesn't freeze the mixture till it hits the freezer.
My, whatever that is to the back and right has gotten HUGE as well. Then the purple (odd color) lobophyllia and my Cynarina along with my Boulder Brain have all grown out of control. The clams LOVE the Coral Frenzy because the Micron size is so small; they are able to eat a BUNCH of it. I have one Turquoise squamosa with blue jewel spots, and another yellow with black spots. EVERYTHING has nearly doubled or tripled in size inside of the 3-4 months that I was gone. I only feed at night, and the things just DEVORE it.
I might frag the acanlord in the future. Problem is, in case you can't see, it is nearly touching that coral to the back right (I still don't know what that thing is - the corallites I think are ceriod or sub-plocoid), it might even be an acan. Just unusual coloring. I will try to get a pic of it tomorrow. It is peach colored with fluorescent green centers. There is NO WAY I would even consider going back to the old diet. That thing towards the back right, was three polyps 4 months ago – it is now about 35 somehow. I have no idea. Then you can see the Worm Brain in the back left. That thing is yellowish with neon-green valleys.

It was about 40% the size it is now - I stopped counting at around 240 polyps. I would have to say it is one of the larger ones I have seen in a home tank. Feeding EVERY night and with the new diet that I mentioned above, they have all ballooned out of control. I am just worried about the coral wars starting because I expected nothing like this at all. I woke up this morning after my light switched itself on, walked downstairs, and was like OMG!!!!. They were all nearly touching each other.
You can probably make out about 35-40 polyps just from the picture. It is longer then it is wide though. It extends back about 11 inches and has began to get ready to release more spawn. They just get sucked up though.

Below is a kinda decent shot and then an aerial shot. How could it be a Favia? NONE of the polyps are connected and NONE of the corallites are connected. The one under that is a boulder or worm or something. I would post the third that I got a good shot of, it is just TO Pretty and I don't want people passing out and what not.

hmm favia looks kind of like yours I could definatly be wrong, as I was looking at an image in the back of another pic but it still looks like a favia to me.

Look at the Polyp structure difference between the two. Also, how longer are the "tentacles" on yours. Mine are about a 16th of an inch.

Oh goodness, thats not mine I would shoot myself if I let hair algae over take my tank that bad. thats a picture I dug up online.
I'll have my buddy matt look at your picture next time he comes over, as far as I can tell he has never mis IDed a coral that I was unsure of, maybe he will have some input, he definatly is better at IDing corals than I am, I know how to keep them and frag them, and frag them, and frag them....
