Begginer coral

what coral is best for me:
10 gal
160 gph
54 watts
I was thinking of maybe putting a green sea mat in my tank or maybe some zoos. What's your suggestions.

i'd go with zoas. you can usually buy frags loacally for $5. zoas grow like crazy, are fun to watch, and you can get some magnificent colors. mushrooms are also fun to watch expand and contract daily. i love ricordias too.
if you have pc ighting id stick with those. if you have MH's then you can go with some sps like acros which a lot pf people like.
id also think aout the fish you are looking into getting. this may affect your decisions!

i have 3 blueleg hermits and next week im going to get all of my stuff including a baby occellaris, zoas, and the lighting fixture. it is a power compact led 20"

or some green star polp or some mushrooms. zoas are a good idea too, they come in all kinds of colors.

if ur getting a clown, you may want to consider an anemone before adding too many corals. i wish i had done this before my tank got to where it is now. caution*** anemones should only be added to well established tanks so if u want to bypass the anomone for now, id reccommed a frogspawn coral or something of that sort to make ur baby oce happy!!!

so a ricordea is probably the only choice right now that i could buy as a sub for frogspawn.

ric and frogs are not alike. i have never seen/heard of a clown hostin a ric. doubt that it is even possible. if its price your concerned about look around for a frog frag, watch it grow, your clown may eventually take to it. a ric is not the answer...they are cool tho!!!

what would be good places to get a frog frag? My lfs only has leathers and softies. But Ill ask if they have a frog or ric.

its kinda hard to say while respecting SWF as a business but look around you'll find some. check locally and in a major city around you.
