Behavior Change

I have (as many of you know) a very healthy pair of Clarkii who host a very healthy Purple Carpet. Unfortunately they live in a poor neighborhood (I have a major phosphate problem in their tank). To add to their woes the rough element moved into the same block in the form of a snowflake and an ultra-aggressive damsel. All Mrs. Clarkii ever seemed interested in was stealing krill from the eel for her PC.
Lately (in the last week) I've noticed some major behavior changes. Mrs. Clarkii has turned into the most aggressive fish I've ever owned chasing the damsel constantly while Mr. Clarkii looks like he's having epileptic fits while she butts him. They're both displaying the most vivid colors they ever have, so I begin to think of courtship. I know nothing about this. Should I be doing anything? Oh! I should also mention that it was my intention to move the couple to a new 450 reef tank in about a month.
