Benifits of a DSB

Im currently setting up a 46 gal bow-front for aggressive FO tank. Should I go with a DSB? What are the benifits of a DSB? I never really heard much about it until I started talking to you fine folks here on SFW.com. I have a 55 gal now with 2" of LS and has worked out fine so far. Please any info on this will help. Thanks
