Berlin Classic Protein Skimmer

Hello....
I'm bad with gauging tubing size. Does anyone know off hand what size tubing will fit on the water outlets of my protein skimmer. Thanks!

I assume you are talking about fitting a pipe in the two elbows that are outputs. I don't think I ever figured it out. 3/4 was too small and 1 was too big. I think they use some other type of PVC that has different measurements than the schedule 40 or thin stuff. I think I even tried CPVC and that did not work either. It's been along time though so I may be wrong.
If you add plumbing to this, be careful. I was told if you allow any backpressure whatsoever, it will cause water to come out of the two air nozzles on top.
If you find something, let me know. I'll be following.

It is 3/4". Check out the picture. If you want to submerge the pipes, you need to cut perpendicular grooves or drill holes on that pipes. This will allow the water go out smoothly without putting pressure on the skimmer.

Barracuda's location is Israel, (the country i assume)
That is where the skimmer is made. I am in the same boat. Nothing quite fit. I found some flex tubing that I squeezed on and it sort of works but am still looking.

Phil, you wanna say that 3/4 won't fit? We have the same skimmer, how is it? I was in the factory where these skimmers are made. There are no different production lines for israel and usa, imo.

I ended up using the 3/4 clear tubing also, but not into the water so it still makes some noise. The PVC did not fit. I do not know why, but it did not even come close. I never thought of the slits. I need to do that. I will try it again as I have some scrap 3/4 lying around somewhere.

Mine must be 3/4" and 1/8" !
From Pirate_Bob's pic it looks like you removed the water outlet and the elbow (or it never had one, I have a hang on type) that is probably my problem. Mine has 2 elbows coming out of the skimmer and I can't find pipe to fit that.
TangMan99 I have the same setup as you. I have mine in a sump and I put a wisper filter bag over the tube outlets to stop the noise and bubbles. Really ugly but works well.

Yeah, I do have the hang-on version. I really want to find some PVC that fits. I wonder where that Gray PVC comes from anyway.

I just brought mine in to the hardware store. At least they know know now im not growing hydroponic pot. Metal halides and strange plumbing fixtures questions might lead some people to begin to wonder. ;)

Yeah, so does the strange purple-blue glow that lights up my living room. I often wonder what people in my neighborhood think when they drive by my house.
