I go with the nikon d70. My dad has it and it is clear and shoots really fast. Kinda pricey though

Yep, that's what I have, the D70. Very affordable if photography is your main hobby, which was the case with me before I got back into salt. Even now you can buy one w/lens for around $699.00, probably less on you-know-where. Of course, $699.00 buys a lot of LR! :)

IMO, this is the best digital camera money can buy.

It is, however, a bit on the expensive side.
My wife uses a Hasselblad medium format and Canon Elan for film stuff and is going to buy a Canon 20d in a few weeks to replace her Fuji (fuji is best known for proper skin tones). We looked at the Nikon line, but we already have lenses for the Canon so that was the main reason for choosing to go with the 20d (and 5fps for 23 consecutive frames). We use our daughter's kodak to photograph our tank.

Sorry, forgot about this one.
If you’re wondering about pricing, the Hasselblad H2D will run you about $31,000.
(this quote is way too high/they can be had for around $20K)
The Hasselblad CF-39MS will make an even bigger dent in your wallet, priced at about $40,000. It boasts a whopping 39 megapixels.

You can make wall murals for your living room wall and they won't be grainy. The trick is finding someplace to print them.

hey since you guys/gals seem to knwo alot abotu cameras. I want a camera that take fast pictures so when my fish are swimmign and dogs are runing i can capture them perfect in stride..
my next question is ....would it be better to get a cheaper digital SLR such as the fuji finepix which is 5.1 megapixls or get liek a 8.0 megapixel canon powershot??
i personally think the digital slr will do what im tlakign about and do it well. Yes it is a cheap digital SLR but i only want it to take quality pics of all my animals! all the reviews i have read where excellent on it, i understand its liek a begginer SLR camera..any opinions would be awesome!

To get a fuji SLR you would need to get an S1 Pro or higher as their lesser cameras are not considered single lens reflex. You are talking $1000 and up. The Canon 20d is 8.2 MP that will shoot at 5 frames per second for 23 consec. frames. They are highly regarded in sports photography as an inexpensive alternative to the Canon MKIIs which sport a stronger frame and are considered "Professional." The fuji probably will not perform as well in an action setting because it tends to be a bit slow to focus. My suggestion is to go to a camera shop and try some on for size. They will let you play with them for a while to see if it will do what you want.
Happy Hunting!
Oh, and as for resolution 6 MP can make pretty large prints with no problem.

dpreview.com is the saltwaterfish.com of digital camera sites. You'll find reviews of EVERYTHING there, even point and shoots.

I would recomend a canon slr or dslr if you real serious about you pics. It is pricey but photography is another great hobby. I have a canon dslr with a couple of L lenses.

Hey guys I have a Cannon Powershot SD100 Elph. It is a 3.2 mega pixels. Can anyone tell me how I can get clear pictures of my tank with this? This camera is great except that I can't get really good tank shots. Should I invest in something else?

Get a tripod and experiment/learn to use the camera in manual mode. try the macro botton if it cant auto fucus your close ups without fuzz. Dont ever use the flash.
I'm partial to Canon simply because my old outdated A40 still takes pictures better than alot of guys newer more expensive camera's of other brands. Only thing it doesn't do well is macro shots which I can expect from an outdated entry level cam. I fiqure if my pile of sh*t can take great pictures newer more advanced models should really be great.
I'm thinking about a Powershot S2 IS, not quite ready to plunk down SLR money for strictly leisure needs.

I assume you are talking about digital. Dont know what your price range is, but for around 325 you can pick up a panasonic lumix with a incredible leica 12x lens and image stabilization. You can spend more and go up in the range, but the FZ series shares the same 12x lens. Go to the review sites like steves digicams and dcresource and do some research and decide for yourself. good luck.
