Best filtration options

I am going to buy a 55gal tank with about 50 lbs of live rock and live sand. Does anyone have suggestions for filtration. I was thinking about a great protein skimmer in a sump but was not sure if I needed more than that eg. an Emperor to clean out large particles. What do you think?

Great skimmer, good water flow=good return pump, closed loop or powerheads, sump. You can use a Pura pad or filter sock to remove particulates if you want, but keep these meticulously clean. I use both.
