Best H.O.B. (Hang on back) Filter

Hello,
I think my pretty old H.O.B filter (whisper) has somethign wrong with it. it is running exremly LOUD . and was looking to replace it with another one. Looking for a good model for a 55gallong Fish with Live rock and corals.
Something that is quiet please.

I really like aquaclear. They last forever, you can cram in tons of media, and can even convert it to a HOB fuge if you're handy.

For a 55 Gallon, that's what I'm leaning towards. Would you order the 110 model (up to 110gallons) or just the 70 (70 gallons)? Behing that there is a control flow valve, maybe the 110?
Just curious...

There's no problem with running the 110. As with any filter make sure that detritus and other gunk doesn't accumulate.

does anyone know how to turn an AC into a fuge? i have an ac70 on my 55 ( i bought my tank used and it came with it...) i wanted to turn it into a fuge but i couldnt find the best way to do it.

oh, btw. i love the AC70 but if i could pick id get the next one up just because, you know... bigger is better.

I'd consider an Emperor 400. I love mine, and I use it on a 75 gallon tank. You can find them and replacement filters cheap on the a-uction site.
