As an "angelfish addict" there's just no way I could pick one angel and use the term "best." Perhaps 'favorite' (in that case, mine would be
Apolemichthys Kingii) but there is such a variety to them, with each genus and each species having different traits to them, that would make them better in different situations.
It sounds like you're aiming for more of a community friendly tank. I would suggest to avoid some of the more aggressive angels, like the Queen, Passer, Emperor. Angels in the Apolemichthys and Chaetodontoplus genus are usually much less aggressive, though they aren't the easiest fish to keep, though if you're able to keep multiple Butterflies, you're a pretty decent aquarist in my book
, so these guys shouldn't too hard. Out of the more 'standard' angels in the Pomacanthus genus, the Annularis and the Chrysurus are generally more peaceful. A large Chrysurus would certainly make for one heck of a show fish. And if you're on a budget, but want a more-of-an-oddfish suggestion, the Six-Bar Angel would be very cool.
