Best Methods of filtration for Non-drilled tanks

I do not want to drill my tank if I can avoid it, and I am trying to avoid anything hanging on the tank.
What is the best filtration method within overflow chambers to maintain parameters.
Parms are not that bad now, but I am always looking to improve.
Here is my current set up.
Cube aquarium: 2’ X 2’ X 2’ open top.
Total Gallons: 60 approx.
Approx. 2 in Sand Bed
Approx. 45 Lbs of Live Rock
Lighting: About 10 hours of light. 6 hours blue, 4 hours with MHD added.
Two overflow chambers –
Chamber 1 - GAC, Mechanical Filter – Floss Pad, Macro Algae sits on top in media bag (Chaetomorpha Macro Algae)
Chamber 2 – Phosban ,return pump that feeds two return nozzles (loc-line) which partially acts as a mini power head.
Powerhead: Koralia 4

Canisters work very nicely.
+1 you can run the inlet & outlets down each side in the corners and place the canister behind your stand. All you will see is the two loops over the top and the tubing inside the tank, but you can hide that with your rock work just make sure you can get to them if you need to.
