Best place to buy a new tank?

I was just curious where you think the best place to buy a tank is. I think the cheapest would be to get one used from someone, but if you are buying new I am not sure. I bought my 29G tank from my LFS, but now in hindsight I think I overpaid. Anyone buy theirs online? Is it worth it after the shipping? I want to buy a 125G next, but not sure where I should buy it from? Anyone have any suggestions?
If you have a suggestion that you can't post just email me. I am pretty sure SWF.com doesn't sell tanks. ********* Thanks.

I bought mine from my LFS. In my area at least they sell them almost at cost to get you into a tank. They make their money with everything else that goes in and around the tank.

Hey, thanks for all the replies. They are all helpful. Here is another couple questions.
1. What is better glass or acrylic
2. Is it better to have a very long (length) and short (height) tank or a shorter (length) and higher (height) tank? Is width all that important? For example, out the following tanks, which would allow for the wides range of fish.
100 Gal. Long 72 x 18 x 17
100 Gal. Wide72 x 24 x 13
100 Gal. Sq.30 x 30 x 25
110 X-High 48 7/8 x 19 x 30 3/4

I would try the classifieds. The LFS I work out is a bit overpriced and yesterday I realized we have some mistakes in our pricing. A 110g is $40 more than a 120. :notsure:

Which one is taller  Which costs more, a 10 gallon or a 5 gallon?

You have discovered those stores strategy on how to eliminate the good lfs from the market. Every time you buy a tank from them you're stabbing the owners of good lfs in the bank. You may buy your fish from the guy that knows what he's talking about, there's no profit in livestock, the shipping is too high and you have to feed and maintain them. The huge chain stores aren't responsible for putting the good knowledgeable stores out of business, it's the people that buy from those chain stores.

ya i dont know bout you guys but i just like to pretty much just use one LFS for all my purchases, this way you get to know the owners and operators and your relationship with them will be much better and they can swing deals with you and keep you posted on when things are coming in.

No specific suggestions, but buying locally can still be a money-saving proposition. It takes some luck and timing, but remember that many LFS have sales. Even without sales, many local stores offer discounts . . . one LFS had stands at 50% off if you bought the tank . . . another said they gave good price breaks if you bought a "package."
Almost bought our tank in town because I stopped at one of the LFSs and they were having a sale, that was ending that evening (about three hours). Wasn't able to pull the trigger right then, but about a month or so later were out of town on other business and stopped into a store there on a whim, and were confronted with huge colorful signs proclaiming a giant tank sale. Next thing I know, there's a 90g AGA RR tank, stand, and canopy being shoved into the back of my wife's Highlander.
Shipping of something as heavy, bulky, large, and fragile as a tank would have to come close to negating any savings in price, may even exceed the final total locally. Risk of damage, as well as the hassle of dealing with any problems is also larger with something bought from far away.
Buying used can be a crapshoot . . . sometimes great, sometimes not so great. If you do buy locally, see the tank with water in it, as well as any plumbing/equipment hooked up before laying down your cash. Don't just buy a tank that's been sitting in a garage without seeing it filled with water, and watching it for a while to see if it leaks.
