best protein skimmer @ UV for nano?

was curious what everyones opinion was on this. I have a 12 gallon old school bio cube set up and it seems like I need a skimmer and also a uv steriizer on it. Is there enough room to equip it with both? Where do they go on it and do they even make a uv sterilizer small enough for it? Thanks in advance for any advice / opinions

Ppl usually don't use skimmer or uv sterilzer on a 12g. Y do u feel like u need one. Do u have algae problems or water quality issues. Most ppl do macro algae via. Refugium.

I'm gettin scum on the top of my water. Thought skimmer would help with this and my fish i put in has iche so i figured uv sterilizer would not only help kill parasites but also help to fight any algae problems in the future once tank starts maturing

U can add a powerhead to blow water at the surface, that should help.usually new tanks have that oily slim on the surface water. Does ur tank have a built in oveflow. As for the ick. U need to remove the fishes to a QT and treat with hypo for like 6 weeks or use copper and also let ur DT sit fishless for the same amount of time.

The back wall of it has the over flow and there are a total of four chambers for the water back there. Hmmm, didn't wanna have to treat in a qt .... This tank only has live rock and some fish. Would it hurt the live rock to treat it ?
